Hundreds of Personnel Cleaned Water Channel in Penggilingan

About 500 joint personnel of East Jakarta Sub-department of Water Resources, Bina Marga, East Jakarta Sub-department of Environment and PPSU of Cakung Sub-district, East Jakarta, cleaned micro and connecting channel (PHB) in RW 06, Penggilingan Urban Village.

Flood's height can reach to adult's calf

The result, hundreds of mud sacks and trash along 1,500 meter water channel were transported.

Head of Cakung Sub-district, Alamsyah, said that all this time, some areas in RW 06, Penggilingan Urban Village, often flooded every time it rains. Even, when heavy rain pours, it flooded for about 30 centimeters.

30 Buildings Above Water Channel Demolished

"Flood's height can reach to adult's calf. That's why we held Sunday Morning Cleaning Acts (AKMP-Aksi Kebersihan Minggu Pagi) in here," he said, Sunday (1/15).

Alamsyah explained that usually flooded regions were basin areas. It is hoped the effort will smoothen the water channel flow.

Sofyian Thaher, Assistant of Economic and Development of East Jakarta, also hopes even after being cleaned, citizen also  maintain the cleanliness of environment by not throwing garbage carelessly which could be potential to be clogged.
